Board of Deacons
The work of the Board of deacons can be summarized "Together in ministry, and in caring for one another." The office of Deacon is by election of the congregation. Deacons are called scripturally to be care givers of the church, extending the church's ministry of sympathy and compassion. Service is offered to the hospitalized, the home bound, and to anyone who requires comfort and care in a given situation. The deacons also provide enriching fellowship ties within the church family. Outreach efforts such as providing bereavement dinners, aid to the impoverished, and support of the overall mission ministry of the church typifies the Board's ongoing work. Deacons also partner with the Church Growth and Evangelism Ministry in supporting the Shepherd Care program for the church membership.
